As a History graduate, I found his (Elliot) research, knowledge and stories enthralling. This history was not in my scope many, many years ago, although I did write an essay on the Great Depression of the 1890's but the marker and I disagreed, as people can. His knowledge on Hyde Park to Taylor Square is second to none, it was a most enjoyable tour for myself and my wife, also a graduate. Firstly, the walk was very easy, with a lot of opportunities to sit down to listen. The old buildings were delicious. The tour guide, Elliot, was passionate about the tales he told and he is the best story teller, I don’t think he stopped talking about the history of the area for 2+ hours. We sat and had a beer with him at the end of the tour too. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour (Old Newtown: Laneway and Cemetery Tour). Elliot provides an interesting overview and informative stories as we walked the area, finishing at the Bank Hotel.
